Welcome to ICI’s Ready By Five (RB5) Program

Our most recently developed program is Ready by Five (RB5) where we focus on preschool-age children because studies show many of Gwinnett’s children are 30% behind their peers upon entering Kindergarten.

This free nine-week program is for families with children up to Kindergarten age and beyond who will attend Gwinnett County schools.

Applications for enrollment for future programs will be accepted at a later date.

Our next classes are scheduled to run from 01/27/2024 through 03/23/2024.

Classes are held on Saturday mornings. A parent must attend with the student. This way the parent learns how best to help the student.

During the program, it is so exciting to watch parents and students come to classes on Saturdays, looking forward to learning. But it is fulfilling to see those same parents and students leaving at the end of the day, and at the end of the program; smiles on their faces and gleams of confidence in both sets of eyes!

Registration for our 2024 Ready By Five has closed! Please check back next October and November (2024) for information on our January 2025 program.

Applications for Teachers and Paraprofessionals for our January 2025 program will be accepted at that time, as well.

Welcome to ICI’s English Language Learner (ELL) Classes

Our longest-running program is an English Language Learner (ELL) program and is open to all adults.

Our students are exposed to a classroom teacher as well as language software and computer use. We provide a substantial snack during which our students have the opportunity to practice what they have learned and commune with faculty, staff, and other students.

These free classes are held most Sundays during the Gwinnett public school year from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm in the Gateway Circle Business Park at 6500 McDonough Dr, D8, Norcross, GA 30093.

Classes start on the first Sunday after Labor Day each year (09/10/2023) and run until just before the winter break (12/10/2023).

They begin again on the first Sunday after the Gwinnett public schools reopen to students in January each year and run through the Sunday before Mother’s Day in May.

We hold open enrollment throughout each semester.

Use of masks, frequent hand washing, and/or hand sanitizer is strongly encouraged. Use of social distancing, disinfectant, and other precautions will be made to ensure the safety of all.

In this program you will learn to:

  • speak English in a classroom setting;
  • use a computer and learn to speak English through programs on the computer, with the help of our technology teacher;
  • socialize with others like yourself, who also want to learn to speak English;

                                    AND

You will take a 30-minute break and eat a hearty snack while you socialize with fellow students and your teachers.

Come learn English, make new friends, and share a snack. There are no attendance requirements and the classes and snacks are FREE.

Welcome to ICI's Gwinnett Academic Assist Program

Our primary program, ICI’s Gwinnett Academic Assist Program (IGAAP) focuses on public school elementary-age students who are struggling to achieve and/or maintain grade level.

This free nine-week program is for third and fourth-grade students in Gwinnett County Public School (GCPS) during the 2023/2024 school year.  Applications for enrollment are be accepted between early September and mid-December of each year and are subject to verification of student qualifications for the program.

Classes are typically held on Saturday mornings beginning at the end of January and ending in late March each year.

During the program, it is so exciting to watch students come to classes on Saturdays, looking forward to learning. But it is fulfilling to see those same students leaving at the end of the day, and at the end of the program; smiles on their faces and gleams of confidence in their eyes!
